I am the Proudest Monkey

February. Looks like it's going to be a pretty dang good month. Sure, sure, for those of you who know, it's my birthday. But man, the lineup is pretty solid. Of course we've got the cabin trip coming up on the birthday weekend. And there's Lael's birthday party. And for my Bank teammates, 2/15 is ALWAYS a good day. However, while this isn't Thanksgiving, I'm pretty thankful, nay, proud of some of the things going on in and around my life. So, thanks to Dave Matthews, the line of the post above made me think of his song and how I'm feeling about a few people and things right now. In honor of DMB, my favorite song of theirs is You and Me and is linked on the left.
  • My sis Kelly is entering her final semester at Wichita State where she's spending the entire semester student teaching. Must be an awkward feeling, straight away applying what you've learned into a live classroom, but I've no doubts my sister is doing well. Will be back for her graduation May 14th.
  • Good bud Josh finished up firefighter school about 6 weeks ago. Physically grueling, mentally demanding, but he stuck with it and that says a lot about a guy. Looking forward to having back in Charlotte hopefully within the next week.
  • Have to give props to Jim for an exciting new opportunity coming his way on the career front. Tough to have an adversity to overcome in the process and my man handled it with class. Very excited for what lies ahead.
  • Of course I have been amazed at how great Sarah is doing in her new job and I've got a feeling a new endeavor is right around the corner which could be a big game changer for her. I keep hoping every day that the "news" ends up working out in her favor.
  • Can't forget mid-April, but not for tax season, rather for Chris and Christy as they're counting down to their first child. They'll make wonderful parents and I'm excited to meet the new addition with a tentative trip up that way when it isn't snowing, which would be June.
Of course I could go on and on, but for now, we'll leave it at that. Should have some good writing coming up, as always it's a struggle to write when there's nothing to say. January came and went and really, nothing to report. Let's see what February brings!
